Am I On the Right Path?

How often in your life do you question if you are on the right path?

Maybe you question the overall direction of your life or something more specific like a job, the decision to go back to school, move house, or take on a new project or opportunity. Maybe you wonder about a big life commitment like getting married, divorced, retiring, or having a baby, or maybe in general, you just intuitively know you need to make a change but are not entirely sure what that looks like yet.

I get this question so often and it’s one of the key things that keeps us stuck, confused and in fear for a lot longer than it needs to.

As women, we are so conditioned to doubt ourselves that it’s no wonder we get stuck here. Oftentimes if we can’t see the end purpose or goal and how things will play out, we start to worry, backtrack and second-guess.

But what I’ve learned personally is that sometimes the direction we need to go in is clear, even if the end result isn’t.

Next time you start to wonder, reflect on this:

You’re on the right path when you don’t feel like you are put in a position to betray yourself. This must be defined by you, but deep down, you know the difference and it’s clear as night and day.

You’re on the right path when you don’t feel like you have to negotiate your sense of integrity.

You’re on the right path when you don’t feel like the direction you are going in or decisions you are making is costing you your power.

You’re on the right path when your soul is not physically drained.

You’re on the right path when you don’t feel like you’ve lost yourself somewhere along the way.

When we take the time to tune in and clearly define this for ourselves, we can the gain clarity, intention and confidence to move in the direction we need to go, even if it’s just one small step at a time. Trust yourself, trust the process and allow the bigger picture reveal itself when the time is right.
